This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Perform thorough investigations into internal threats impacting client operations.
β’ Deliver investigative services, case management, and security solutions focused on internal threats.
β’ Allocate 70% of time to investigative tasks and 30% to project management aimed at addressing vulnerability gaps.
β’ Manage intricate security incidents involving multiple stakeholders.
β’ Collaborate with Security Analysts utilizing law enforcement databases, social media, and the deep/dark web to probe threats.
β’ Generate actionable and succinct threat analysis reports for cross-functional teams, executive management, and enterprise security operations.
β’ Foster relationships between the Safety and Security team and local law enforcement, research, intelligence groups, and vendors.
β’ Oversee and/or engage in data and equipment recovery initiatives.
β’ Maintain ongoing communication with client management regarding investigative outputs and operational choices.
β’ Identify, evaluate, and investigate insider risk incidents and concerning behaviors; offer mitigation strategies.
β’ Create and coordinate investigative strategies utilizing open-source intelligence and technical tools for evidence gathering and analysis.
β’ Lead incident management coordination as the incident commander.
β’ Conduct sensitive interviews with victims, witnesses, and persons of interest, both virtually and in person.
β’ Record investigative outcomes using case management software throughout the incident's lifecycle.
β’ Collaborate with stakeholders to pinpoint opportunities and solutions for mitigating insider risks.
β’ Execute after-action reviews and implement best practices and lessons learned.
β’ Cultivate relationships with Talent, Employee Relations, Legal, Cybersecurity, Technology, business leaders, and external partners.
β’ Develop and enhance policies, procedures, and documentation in accordance with data privacy and legal standards.
β’ Provide program analytics and case management to detect, identify, and evaluate concerning behaviors to mitigate risks.
β’ Articulate complex insider risk issues to cross-functional partners.
β’ Willingness to travel up to 10%.
β’ Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, cybersecurity, intelligence studies, or a closely related discipline.
β’ Over 8 years of practical experience in insider threat investigations within cybersecurity, law enforcement, counterintelligence, or equivalent private sector roles.
β’ At least 4 years of experience in the industry focusing on insider risk mitigation and remediation, managing complex project coordination to address identified vulnerabilities.
β’ Proficient in interviewing insider risk actors, witnesses, affected individuals, and potential witnesses.
β’ Strong knowledge of industry standards pertaining to corporate investigations, employment legal matters, and information confidentiality and integrity.
β’ Experience in insider threat incident triage, coordinating cross-functional responses, and conducting investigations across digital and human realms.
β’ Background in supporting a comprehensive threat management program, including investigations, intelligence gathering, and case management.
β’ Extensive experience in using open-source research, criminal background checks, and other online investigative methods.
β’ Ability to independently oversee sensitive cases, interpret evidence, and communicate findings effectively to corporate stakeholders.
β’ Capability to work outside traditional hours and respond to urgent or time-sensitive situations.
β’ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
β’ Ability to build partnerships and collaborate effectively across different functions.
β’ Must demonstrate high adaptability and flexibility.
β’ Preferred: ASIS Professional Certified Investigator (PCI).
β’ Preferred: CERT Insider Threat Program Manager (ITPM) Certificate.
β’ Preferred: Experience in data analysis.
β’ Preferred: Skills in planning and policy drafting.
β’ Preferred: Experience in training and exercises.
β’ Language skills are an advantage.
