Inpatient Orders Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Configure and provide support for Inpatient Order Entry, Provider Documentation, and Infection Control applications within the Epic EHR.

• Act as a liaison among end users, operational leaders, support resources, and vendors.

• Design, build, optimize, and deliver application support for designated Epic applications.

• Analyze business challenges, requirements, and workflows, applying application knowledge to fulfill operational and organizational objectives.

• Collaborate with clients on analysis, testing, documentation, and the implementation of medium- to high-complexity tasks.

• Serve as the primary support contact for application end users.

• Identify and address issues impacting the application area and coordinate with other application teams.

• Guide the design of workflows, system construction, and testing while analyzing technical issues related to Epic.

• Identify and execute requested system modifications.

• Serve as a liaison between end-user workflow requirements and Epic implementation personnel.

• Maintain consistent communication with Epic representatives and engage in weekly project team meetings.

• Collaborate with Epic representatives, the business community, and end users to address business needs, project deliverables, and timelines.

• Develop an understanding of operational requirements through site visits and integrated sessions.

• Participate in training and assist end users.

• Troubleshoot issues and inquiries.

• Review project and issue status with leadership.

• Conduct weekly communications with team members regarding deliverables, shared issues, end-user concerns, budget, and milestones.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in clinical fields, Informatics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Computer Systems, or equivalent experience in healthcare or IT related fields.

• Epic Certification in the respective application required upon hiring or to be obtained within 9 months of employment.

• Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• RN degree is preferred but not mandatory.

• Previous analyst experience with inpatient order entry, documentation, and/or infection control systems.

• Work experience or knowledge of inpatient clinical operations and workflows, including order entry and provider documentation.

• Strong understanding of physician orders and the integrated workflows initiated from those orders.

• Previous experience with EpicCare Order Entry, Provider Documentation & Bugsy is advantageous.

• Familiarity with infection control regulatory reporting requirements (state and NHSN).

• Knowledge of hospital infection control workflows and policies.

• Understanding of antimicrobial stewardship programs and pharmacy clinical monitoring programs.

• Familiarity with NHSN Antimicrobial Usage and Resistance module (AUR) regulatory reporting requirements.

• Understanding of how antimicrobials are ordered and dispensed.

• Familiarity with relevant lab results related to specific medications.

• Must be able to sit for extended periods and utilize computers and telecommunication devices.

• Must be capable of working in a high-pressure environment, working independently, thinking critically, making sound decisions, remaining detail-oriented and alert, as well as being self-motivated.

• Maintenance of necessary professional licensing and/or certifications is required.
