This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Examine clinical documentation and assign as well as sequence diagnostic and procedural codes for inpatient records at the facility.

• Confirm MS-DRG calculations to accurately represent documented diagnoses and procedures.

• Evaluate and analyze documentation while abstracting clinical data to ensure regulatory compliance.

• Choose and sequence ICD-10-CM and PCS codes for specified patient categories, including acute inpatient records.

• Review clinical records to guarantee that MS-DRG assignments correspond with documented diagnoses and procedures.

• Abstract clinical data that supports diagnoses, procedures, and discharge dispositions.

• Offer coding clarification and support to client staff, including provider queries.

• Engage in client and staff meetings, training sessions, and conference calls.

• Take part in continuing education opportunities and maintain updated credentials.

• Uphold Savista’s Compliance Program and ensure the confidentiality of patient and client information.

• Execute other related tasks as assigned or requested.

⛳️ Requirements

• Candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment skills assessment.

• An active credential from AHIMA, such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or an active AAPC credential, including COC (formerly CPC-H), CCS-P, CPC, or a related specialty credential is required.

• A minimum of two (2) years of recent and relevant hands-on coding experience with Acute Inpatient records is essential.

• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and provider information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

• Possess a current working knowledge of ICD-10-CM and PCS, coding guidelines, governmental regulations, protocols, and third-party coding/billing requirements.
