This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.
• Oversee the overall quality of inpatient coding in a role that is fully accountable.
• Implement continuous quality improvement initiatives as needed.
• Guarantee precise and comprehensive coding for the evaluation and reporting of physician and hospital outcomes.
• Keep extensive, current knowledge of clinical coding practices.
• Utilize documentation requirements and coding guidelines for both diagnosis and procedural coding.
• Adhere to Coding Clinic and AHA Official Coding Guidelines.
• Associate degree.
• In the absence of an associate degree, a Certified Coding Specialist credential with two years of inpatient coding experience will be accepted.
• Recent graduates eligible for AHIMA credentials may be considered.
• RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification is mandatory.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is preferred.
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) is preferred.
• Familiarity with encoder software is preferred.
• Residency in Kentucky or Indiana is required.
