Infrastructure Solutions Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the infrastructure solution architecture for designated projects, ensuring the establishment and adherence to appropriate standards and processes.

• Spearhead the development of future-state business area architectures utilizing enterprise architecture frameworks.

• Conduct gap analysis of business area architecture, assessing impact, ROI, time to benefit, strategic alignment, and roadmaps.

• Facilitate long-term architectural planning that aligns with business product roadmaps and the ETS roadmap.

• Collaborate with BU CIO teams to comprehend technical objectives, product initiatives, sales pipeline activities, and factors affecting portfolio delivery.

• Ensure that solutions comply with requirements for scalability, maintainability, reliability, extensibility, usability, and security.

• Integrate the IT technical vision across various technologies, systems, and organizations.

• Execute feasibility studies, create high-level business models, prepare business cases, and evaluate system implications.

• Align business strategies, enterprise transformation efforts, and technology direction through strategies, policies, standards, and practices.

• Establish policies and strategies for selecting system architecture components while coordinating design activities.

• Evaluate emerging hardware, software, products, methods, and techniques, providing briefings to staff and management.

• Collaborate with infrastructure, development, and PMO teams on both tactical and strategic deliverables.

• Design architectures for complex systems that meet internal customer requirements.

• Analyze issues, determine appropriate courses of action, provide direction, and reallocate resources as necessary.

• Communicate effectively across various organizational levels, from BU CIOs and PMO leaders to infrastructure engineers and stakeholders.

• Provide technical oversight and guidance to deployment teams to ensure timely and budget-compliant implementation.

• Act as the technical escalation point to eliminate roadblocks and resolve issues and risks.

• Foster relationships with development and infrastructure teams to guarantee technically sound solutions and timely, budget-compliant delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in IT or technical services, including infrastructure architecture across cloud, hybrid, and private hosting environments.

• Extensive experience with cloud services and platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.

• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent requests, projects, and responsibilities effectively.

• Proven capability to leverage vendor and consultant expertise to support IT project delivery and operations.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and judgment skills.

• Exceptional leadership and customer-facing abilities.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

• Experience with middleware technologies and databases.

• Foundational understanding of cloud services and platforms.

• Foundational knowledge of compute platforms, including Linux and Windows.

• Foundational knowledge of networking technologies, including LAN, WAN, and WLAN.

• Foundational knowledge of storage and backup technologies, including SAN environments.

• Foundational knowledge of server and storage virtualization, encompassing public, hybrid, and private cloud environments.

• Foundational knowledge of web technologies, including web servers, application servers, and load balancers.

• Foundational knowledge of security technologies and processes, including firewalls, intrusion prevention, compliance monitoring, and vulnerability management.
