Infrastructure & Operations Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oklahoma.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary owner for Shopify and its associated application ecosystem.

• Manage the application roadmap, configurations, integrations, reliability, lifecycle, and business results.

• Collaborate with business leaders and subject-matter experts to comprehend, clarify, and prioritize business rules, workflows, and requirements.

• Deliver business requirements by leveraging native platform capabilities, configurations, and established off-the-shelf applications.

• Research, assess, select, configure, and integrate third-party applications and services.

• Define business and technical requirements, scope, integration points, and acceptance criteria for custom development projects.

• Engage with the Software Development team and take responsibility for the outcomes of completed applications.

• Oversee application integration architecture and data flows between Shopify and supporting systems.

• Establish and uphold application governance, documentation, access controls, release practices, change management, and support processes.

• Monitor application performance, integration reliability, vendor efficiency, licensing, incidents, and risks.

• Lead resolution efforts and drive continuous improvement.

• Manage the application portfolio and delivery backlog.

• Balance business value, urgency, risk, cost, and long-term maintainability.

• Lead and mentor team members while coordinating efforts across business units, technology teams, vendors, and global stakeholders.

• Communicate priorities, decisions, status updates, risks, and trade-offs to both business and technical stakeholders.

• Stay updated on the Shopify ecosystem, application-integration practices, and practical applications of AI-assisted tools.

• Support system releases, incidents, global operations, or other business requirements outside of regular business hours as needed.

• Travel occasionally for meetings, events, or other business-related purposes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information systems, business technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

• At least 10 years of experience in application ownership, eCommerce platforms, application integration, solution delivery, or similar enterprise technology roles.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience leading teams focused on business applications, integrations, or platform delivery.

• Extensive hands-on experience in owning and administering Shopify within a complex business setting, including platform configuration, permissions, third-party applications, integrations, releases, and operational support.

• Proven success in translating business rules and requirements into dependable application solutions and guiding those solutions through implementation and adoption.

• Demonstrated experience in evaluating, selecting, implementing, and managing off-the-shelf applications and external technology vendors.

• Familiarity with integrating Shopify or a comparable eCommerce platform with ERP, CRM, marketing automation, payment, fulfillment, analytics, or other enterprise systems.

• Strong working knowledge of APIs, iPaaS, data flows, identity and access management, testing, release management, security, and application support.

• Capability to lead cross-functional initiatives, handle competing priorities, and communicate effectively with executives, business stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors.

• Excellent ownership, problem-solving, negotiation, documentation, and decision-making abilities.

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or another enterprise ERP platform is desirable.

• Familiarity with Azure integration services or an enterprise integration platform as a service (iPaaS) is preferred.

• Experience in supporting global, multi-market, or direct-selling eCommerce operations is a plus.

• Technical fluency in APIs, data mapping, data modeling, and software delivery practices is advantageous.

• Practical experience utilizing AI-assisted tools to enhance application delivery and operations is desirable.

• Shopify Partner, Shopify Developer, or Shopify Plus Certification is preferred.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

• Primarily requires extended periods of sitting and working at a computer, frequent use of standard office equipment, and the ability to communicate effectively.
