Infrastructure Data Center Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Ensure continuous 24/7 availability of the production environment.

• Oversee daily operations and act as the initial point of escalation for critical incidents and changes.

• Drive issues to complete resolution within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

• Manage the root cause analysis process for significant incidents.

• Develop and approve Methods of Procedure (MOP) documentation.

• Offer advanced troubleshooting and diagnosis of intricate infrastructure issues spanning network, compute, storage, and virtualization platforms.

• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure infrastructure implementation meets product and project specifications.

• Contribute to initiatives aimed at continuous improvement and process optimization.

• Participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) review meetings.

• Engage with both internal and external stakeholders to comprehend business requirements and ensure that solutions are appropriate.

• Provide technical guidance and systems training to colleagues.

• Share expertise across the team and exhibit technical leadership in troubleshooting video, web conferencing, and chat systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in Data Centre and Network environments, preferably in a Network Operations Centre (NOC) or Technical Assistance Centre (TAC).

• Strong practical knowledge of VMware, Cisco UCS, Nexus devices, and HyperFlex solutions.

• Extensive technical understanding of Data Centre networking technologies, including VXLAN, BGP EVPN, ACI, VPC, STP, HSRP, OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP.

• Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere and container environments.

• Proven track record of managing and resolving complex incidents and challenges in a dynamic, global setting.

• Strong grasp of the ITIL framework concerning Event, Incident, Change, Service Request, and Problem Management.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage confidently with executive-level stakeholders and lead technical conversations.

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent hands-on experience.

• CCIE Data Center or CCIE Routing & Switching certification is advantageous.

• Experience with scripting and automation tools, such as Python or Ansible, is a plus.
