Information Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Assess the security posture of systems, platforms, and cloud environments; set security baselines and lead the implementation and fortification to address identified vulnerabilities.

• Gain expertise in SIEM, EDR, and various security platforms; configure, optimize, and integrate tools with SaaS applications and a variety of data sources.

• Review and enhance security playbooks, runbooks, and processes based on insights gained, tool updates, and emerging threats.

• Carry out vulnerability assessments, system audits, and risk analyses utilizing industry-standard scanning tools.

• Oversee and execute continuous monitoring procedures to ensure compliance with ISO 27001:2022 and SOC 2 Type II.

• Track, analyze, and respond to security alerts and incidents; conduct investigations, manage incidents, and propose corrective measures.

• Protect organizational data and infrastructure while promoting adherence to evolving security best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in information security or a related field.

• Expertise in vulnerability scanning tools (such as Nessus, Burpsuite, Tenable, etc.) and the ability to interpret scan results for remediation.

• In-depth knowledge of security standards.

• Proven experience in continuous monitoring, network security, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.

• Strong analytical abilities and a detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.

• Demonstrated ability to deliver results promptly and adhere to established schedules.

• Familiarity with cloud security concepts.

• Experience with security automation and continuous monitoring tools.

• Proficiency in scripting languages (such as Python and PowerShell) for automating security processes.

• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CompTIA Security+, CAP) are highly preferred.

• Knowledge of PKI is an advantage.

• Experience in government-regulated environments (such as AWS GovCloud, Azure Government) is preferred.
