Information Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create and enhance the information architecture to facilitate efficient knowledge retrieval in Genesys Cloud AI.

• Evaluate the current knowledge base to pinpoint deficiencies in content structure, consistency, duplication, metadata, and searchability.

• Perform a baseline assessment of 100–200 pilot articles focusing on content quality, accuracy, currency, readability, and tagging practices.

• Analyze search logs and user behavior to uncover relevance issues, zero-result queries, and gaps in terminology.

• Develop taxonomy and metadata models, including hierarchies, controlled vocabularies, synonyms, tagging rules, and audience-specific content classification.

• Establish content structuring guidelines and search optimization criteria for keyword, semantic, and AI-driven retrieval.

• Set standards for content quality, lifecycle rules, review processes, and ownership guidelines in collaboration with the Senior PS Consultant.

• Assist in proofs of concept by evaluating taxonomy and search capabilities, assessing AI retrieval quality, and documenting recommendations for the client's content team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in information science, taxonomy design, metadata modeling, information architecture, or enterprise search.

• Proven experience in designing taxonomies and metadata models for enterprise or digital content environments.

• Hands-on experience in analyzing search behavior, enhancing content findability, and defining search optimization requirements.

• Experience in structuring or preparing content for AI-driven search, knowledge retrieval, or virtual agents.

• Knowledge of how content structure, metadata, and information architecture influence AI-driven search and knowledge retrieval.

• Excellent analytical and communication skills, capable of translating findings into actionable recommendations.

• Eligible to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada security clearance.

• A Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS/MISt) or an equivalent qualification in Information Science is considered a plus.

• Familiarity with Genesys Cloud solutions or other contact center knowledge platforms is a plus.

• Understanding of taxonomy and metadata standards, such as SKOS, Dublin Core, or ISO 25964, is advantageous.

• Experience in government or public sector roles is a plus.

• Bilingual proficiency in English and French is a plus.
