Infield Mentor Trainer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Dominican Republic.

📋 Description

• Train and continuously evaluate and develop both teachers and missionaries.

• Offer individual coaching and maintain in-service training through weekly meetings.

• Supply teachers with necessary materials and policy information.

• Observe and assess the performance of both missionaries and teachers.

• Facilitate opportunities for teacher improvement.

• Assist in preparing new teachers prior to their classroom experiences.

• Ensure that teachers comprehend and effectively deliver the approved MTC curriculum.

• Lead the development of updates or new MTC curriculum.

• Step in as a classroom teacher when necessary.

• Advocate for the well-being and individual needs of missionaries.

• Guide teachers in establishing an optimal learning environment.

• Manage daily supervisory tasks and disciplinary matters alongside the Manager of Training.

• Recommend increases in teacher merit and make dismissal recommendations.

• Coordinate with other Lead Teachers regarding shared employees.

• Report on missionary progress and teacher performance to the Manager of Training.

• Assist with interviewing, evaluating teaching and language skills, and making hiring decisions.

• Support area training meetings and the coordination of training resources.

• Assess the proficiency levels of missionaries and teacher applicants in the target language upon request.

• Perform MTC Teacher responsibilities and other temporary MTC tasks as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 months of experience as an MTC teacher.

• Must be a returned missionary.

• Must be fluent in a non-native language (excluding English or ESL area assignments).

• Demonstrates a strong understanding of MTC language learning strategies and methodologies.

• Must possess a solid grasp of MTC training principles, demonstrate effective problem-solving and organizational skills, and exhibit exceptional training competence.

• Must be able to communicate effectively.

• Demonstrates resilience under pressure.

• Must have the technological skills necessary to function efficiently in the MTC environment.

• Must possess outstanding interpersonal and leadership abilities.

• Must have a thorough understanding of Preach My Gospel.

• Demonstrates a positive attitude, proactivity, and self-motivation.

• Experience as a missionary is required.

• Physical requirements may include prolonged sitting and the use of monitors/equipment.

• Preferred: 1 year of experience in teaching, training, or tutoring in any capacity.
