Industry Solutions Consultant, Middle Market

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Industry Hubs for designated industries.

• Create and update underwriting guidelines, industry insights, risk profiles, best practices, and reference materials.

• Generate content, tools, and resources that support underwriting decision-making and industry specialization.

• Ensure that industry materials are aligned with emerging trends, market conditions, competitive developments, and underwriting priorities.

• Conduct research on assigned industries to uncover trends, risks, opportunities, and market developments.

• Monitor competitor actions, industry publications, economic indicators, and regulatory changes.

• Attend industry seminars and conferences as necessary.

• Provide analytical support and recommendations for industry strategies.

• Assist in portfolio reviews and suggest potential actions.

• Collaborate with Industry Solutions Directors to develop training programs, presentations, job aids, and educational resources.

• Enhance underwriter knowledge, industry expertise, and risk assessment capabilities.

• Contribute to onboarding and continuing education resources.

• Work in partnership with Product, Actuarial, Marketing, Claims, Corporate Underwriting, and other business partners.

• Support industry-specific value propositions, growth strategies, and underwriting approaches.

• Engage in cross-functional projects aimed at improving underwriting effectiveness and achieving industry-focused business results.

• Advise underwriting leadership and teams regarding assigned industries.

• Respond to requests for industry-related information and provide analysis for underwriting initiatives and strategic priorities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in commercial insurance underwriting.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business.

• Over 5 years of experience in insurance, underwriting, industry research, consulting, or a related field.

• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.

• Experience in developing business content, training materials, presentations, or reference resources.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Capacity to network internally and cultivate cross-functional partnerships to influence outcomes.

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SharePoint, and Teams.

• Preferred knowledge of middle market underwriting and industry segmentation strategies.

• Experience with industry data, portfolio management, or competitor analysis is preferred.

• Preferred professional insurance designations (CPCU, ARM, AU, or equivalent).
