Industry Solutions Consultant – Middle Market

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Industry Hubs for designated industries.

• Create and update underwriting guidelines, industry insights, risk profiles, best practices, and reference materials.

• Produce content, tools, and resources that support underwriting decision-making and industry specialization.

• Ensure that industry materials align with emerging trends, market conditions, competitive developments, and underwriting priorities.

• Conduct research on assigned industries to uncover trends, risks, opportunities, and market developments.

• Keep track of competitor activities, industry publications, economic indicators, and regulatory changes.

• Attend industry seminars and conferences as necessary.

• Assist in shaping industry strategies through detailed analysis and recommendations.

• Aid in portfolio reviews by assessing areas of concern, monitoring performance indicators, and suggesting actions.

• Design training programs, presentations, job aids, and educational resources alongside Industry Solutions Directors.

• Support initiatives that enhance underwriter knowledge, industry expertise, and risk assessment capabilities.

• Contribute to onboarding processes and continuing education resources.

• Collaborate with Product, Actuarial, Marketing, Claims, Corporate Underwriting, and other business partners.

• Promote industry-specific value propositions, growth strategies, and underwriting methodologies.

• Engage in cross-functional projects aimed at improving underwriting effectiveness and business outcomes.

• Provide advice to underwriting leadership and teams regarding assigned industries.

• Address industry-related information requests and deliver analysis for underwriting initiatives and strategic objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in commercial insurance underwriting.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business.

• Over 5 years of experience in insurance, underwriting, industry research, consulting, or a related field.

• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.

• Skilled in developing business content, training materials, presentations, or reference resources.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Capable of internal networking and cultivating cross-functional partnerships to influence outcomes.

• Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SharePoint, and Teams.

• Knowledge of middle market underwriting and industry segmentation strategies is preferred.

• Experience with industry data, portfolio management, or competitor analysis is preferred.

• Professional insurance designations (CPCU, ARM, AU, or equivalent) are preferred.
