This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.
• Schedule and register patient appointments while providing details for requests such as addresses, directions, phone numbers, operating hours, and billing or departmental information.
• Efficiently and accurately process requests received through phone, fax, email, and other communication channels.
• Assist new members by introducing them to and explaining the available services, processes, and provider availability.
• Update patients regarding the status of referrals or authorizations.
• Professionally answer, screen, and manage a high volume of incoming calls.
• Schedule and cancel patient appointments for various providers.
• Adhere to phone scripts, clinical decision trees, scheduling criteria, and departmental guidelines.
• Assess appointment types and urgency based on knowledge and training.
• Schedule patients with the appropriate providers or direct calls to the relevant resources.
• Communicate complex exam preparation instructions to patients as well as to internal and external ordering physician offices.
• Send accurate and comprehensive communications to physicians and other healthcare providers.
• A minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a call center environment.
• Experience in healthcare scheduling is a plus!
• Availability to work any 8-hour schedule between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM (EST).
