This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
β’ Assist in the preparation, coordination, and management of ACAS Early Conciliation matters and Employment Tribunal claims.
β’ Aid in drafting responses, witness statements, chronologies, bundles, settlement documentation, and case summaries.
β’ Offer clear, pragmatic, and risk-based advice on contentious employment issues, including grievances, disciplinary actions, capability, absence, whistleblowing, discrimination, and flexible working.
β’ Monitor key dates, deadlines, and necessary actions for ACAS and Employment Tribunal matters.
β’ Create and deliver practical guidance, briefings, and educational sessions for managers.
β’ Assist managers with early intervention, ensuring fair processes, proper documentation, and consistent decision-making.
β’ Provide coaching to HR colleagues and managers on complex or sensitive employee relations cases.
β’ Aid in the review, drafting, and development of employment-related policies, procedures, templates, and guidance notes.
β’ Ensure that employment policies and processes are legally compliant, operationally feasible, and aligned with EMEDβs values and operational methods.
β’ Coordinate instructions, gather relevant information, and ensure timely and appropriate legal advice is sought based on the level of risk.
β’ Facilitate effective management of external legal expenditures by ensuring that queries are well-prepared, proportionate, and clearly defined.
β’ Collaborate closely with colleagues across HR, operations, and external legal partners.
β’ Travel as necessary.
β’ Currently pursuing or advancing through a recognized legal qualification, such as the Legal Practice Course, SQE pathway, or an equivalent professional route.
β’ A genuine interest in cultivating an in-house legal career and acquiring commercial experience within a dynamic healthcare logistics organization.
β’ Understanding of UK employment law principles and their application in a people-centric operational setting.
β’ Capability to provide clear, balanced, and practical legal advice to non-legal stakeholders.
β’ Strong drafting, analytical, and organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
β’ Confident communicator with the ability to establish credibility with managers, HR colleagues, and external legal partners.
β’ Sound judgment and the capacity to assess risk, prioritize tasks, and escalate issues as necessary.
β’ Discreet and professional, with a robust understanding of confidentiality and data protection considerations.
β’ Proactive, collaborative, and solutions-oriented, with a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
β’ Relevant experience in legal, employment law, employee relations, or paralegal work would be beneficial.
β’ Experience collaborating with HR teams, managers, or external legal advisors would be advantageous.
