In-Home Hospice & Euthanasia Veterinarian, DVM

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Deliver in-home pet hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, pain management, and compassionate euthanasia services within the designated service area.

• Travel independently to scheduled appointments and operate within a mobile veterinary care setting.

• Conduct physical examinations, clinical assessments, medication administration, sedation, euthanasia, and other veterinary services.

• Educate and assist pet families in making quality-of-life decisions, exploring end-of-life care options, and understanding euthanasia and aftercare processes.

• Keep accurate veterinary medical records and clinical documentation.

• Communicate effectively with pet families, veterinary medical, scheduling, support, and referring veterinary teams.

• Safely handle, position, and assist in the movement of companion animals.

• Uphold professionalism, clinical autonomy, sound medical judgment, and reliability while working independently in the field.

• Exhibit compassion, dignity, and respect in all interactions with patients, families, colleagues, and veterinary partners.

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD), BVMS, or a comparable veterinary medical degree from an accredited or qualifying veterinary program.

• Must hold, or be eligible for, an active veterinary license in the state(s) where services will be provided.

• A valid U.S. driver's license is required.

• Capability to safely travel between scheduled in-home veterinary appointments.

• Must be comfortable working independently as a mobile veterinarian.

• Ability to communicate with empathy and professionalism during discussions related to pet hospice, quality-of-life, and end-of-life matters.

• Willingness to participate in rotational weekend scheduling.

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted and assist with weights up to 100 pounds.

• Ability to perform physical and logistical tasks in various residential environments.

• Successful completion of required background and motor vehicle record checks post-hire and prior to the scheduled start date.
