In-Home Hospice & Euthanasia Veterinarian, DVM

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Deliver in-home pet hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, pain and symptom management, and humane euthanasia services.

• Travel autonomously to scheduled appointments within the designated service area.

• Conduct physical examinations, clinical assessments, administer medications, provide sedation, perform euthanasia, and deliver other veterinary services within the scope of the role and applicable regulations.

• Educate and guide families through quality-of-life decisions, end-of-life care options, euthanasia, and aftercare processes.

• Maintain precise veterinary medical records and clinical documentation.

• Communicate effectively with pet families, veterinary staff, scheduling, operations, support teams, and referring veterinary professionals.

• Safely manage, position, and assist with the movement of companion animals.

• Exercise clinical autonomy, sound medical judgment, professionalism, and dependability in the field.

• Exhibit compassion, dignity, and respect in interactions with patients, families, colleagues, and veterinary partners.

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD), BVMS, or an equivalent veterinary medical degree from an accredited or qualifying veterinary program.

• Must hold, or be eligible to obtain, an active veterinary license in the state(s) where services will be rendered.

• Possess a valid U.S. driver's license.

• Capability to safely travel between scheduled in-home veterinary appointments.

• Comfortable working independently as a mobile veterinarian.

• Strong ability to communicate with empathy and professionalism during pet hospice, quality-of-life, and end-of-life discussions.

• Availability for rotational weekend scheduling.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted and assist with weights up to 100 pounds.

• Competence to perform physical and logistical tasks in various residential environments.

• Successful completion of relevant background and motor vehicle record checks following hiring and prior to the scheduled start date.
