This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Act as the customer service representative between the organization and its clients.

• Address billing inquiries, shipment tracking, and various customer issues.

• Foster strong relationships with customers.

• Prepare documents required for import customs clearance of client shipments, including PGAs.

• Track shipments and redirect freight as necessary.

• Liaise with CBP and various PGAs to resolve standard concerns.

• Create and distribute import documents to relevant parties.

• Participate in cross-training for additional responsibilities.

• Open files and input notes, information, and document requests into corporate systems.

• Review and issue documentation to comply with government and carrier regulations.

• Convert and verify shipment weight, volume, and foreign currency.

• Dispatch information and document requests to employees, suppliers, service providers, and U.S. government agencies.

• Communicate with offices, departments, and teams regarding customs brokerage matters.

• Ensure adherence to U.S. government regulatory agencies, including FDA, EPA, and USFWS.

• Maintain communication with customers, carriers, and vendors.

• Organize shipments from airlines, ocean piers, and CFS facilities to customer or consignee destinations.

• Coordinate pickups and manage invoice files.

• Stay updated on regulations, laws, guidelines, and Deringer requirements.

• Serve as a resource for both internal and external clients.

• Accurately and promptly manage accounting processes.

• Execute additional tasks assigned by management.


⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.

• Over 2 years of recent experience in customs brokerage.

• Familiarity with client submission requirements and clearance procedures for specific commodities.

• Understanding of import customs clearance documentation, including bonds, bills, classification/release, reports, and PGAs.

• Knowledge of import documents such as bills of lading, dock receipts, licenses, and consulate documents.

• Ability to comply with U.S. government regulatory agencies like FDA, EPA, and USFWS.

• Competence in handling confidential information.

• Proficient in processing accounting tasks accurately and within deadlines.

• Capability to work independently, multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.

• Availability to work Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST.
