This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Act as the customer service representative connecting the company with its clients.

• Address issues related to billing, shipment tracking, and other customer inquiries.

• Foster strong relationships with customers.

• Process Customs and PGA entries for the clearance of goods entering the United States.

• Open files and log notes, information, and document requests in corporate systems.

• Examine commercial invoices and documentation for compliance with regulations and carrier requirements.

• Convert and validate shipment weight, volume, and foreign currency.

• Solicit information and documents from employees, suppliers, service providers, and U.S. government agencies.

• Liaise with offices, departments, and teams regarding customs brokerage matters.

• Ensure compliance with FDA, EPA, USFWS, and other U.S. governmental regulatory bodies.

• Organize shipping details with forwarders, steamship lines, airlines, and agents.

• Maintain ongoing communication with customers, carriers, and vendors.

• Manage shipments from airlines, ocean piers, and container freight stations to customer locations.

• Coordinate pickups and maintain invoice files.

• Stay informed about regulations, laws, guidelines, and company policies.

• Serve as a resource for both internal and external clients.

• Accurately and promptly handle accounting processes.

• Respond to emails and phone calls in a timely and professional manner.

• Suggest improvements for departmental and company processes.

• Carry out other assigned responsibilities.


⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• Prior experience in customs and/or logistics is preferred.

• May be required to complete IATA Dangerous Goods, IATA Basic Export, CFR49 Dangerous Goods, CFR 15 Export Regulation, and IMDG Dangerous Goods courses within the first twelve months.

• Availability to work Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Standard Time.
