Ilocano/Tagalog VRI/OPI Interpretation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be prepared to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry in which the interpreter operates, particularly in healthcare and medical fields.

• Ensure that all messages are rendered accurately and completely, without adding, omitting, or altering any information.

• Deliver the highest level of customer service while interpreting.

• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and comprehensive interpretation of messages.

• Adhere to established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Maintain communication and provide reports to your team leader.

• Follow the dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language, 'Ilocano/Tagalog.'

• At least 1 year of experience in telephone interpretation with a reputable interpretation company is preferred, but not essential.

• Good understanding of medical terminology is advantageous, but not required.

• Knowledge of legal terminology is a plus.

• International certifications relevant to the healthcare sector are beneficial (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Possess high emotional intelligence and an appreciation for diverse cultures.

• Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills are essential.
