ICT Designer, Data Centers

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with a team of ICT designers and BIM specialists to deliver high-quality, constructible data center design documents on time.

• Conduct Data Center design tasks in accordance with work plans and defined objectives.

• Utilize ICT infrastructure expertise to support survey, design, development, and construction administration projects.

• Execute ICT design and production for hyper-scale and enterprise-level data centers.

• Design structured cabling systems, campus/WAN networks, passive optical networks, and outside plant infrastructure.

• Undertake specific or limited ICT design and production responsibilities as part of a broader data center design team.

• Generate construction drawings utilizing BIM software such as Revit.

• Collect and correlate engineering data following established protocols.

• Complete detailed and routine design and consulting tasks.

• Suggest solutions to new or complex challenges.

• Execute work within agreed budgets and timelines with minimal supervision.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution along with four (4) years of relevant experience, or proven equivalency of experience and/or education.

• Experience in Data Center Design and production with a focus on ICT infrastructure.

• Current BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) Certification or a strong desire and capability to obtain it.

• U.S. Citizenship or lawful permanent residency (Green Card) is mandatory.

• Professional experience and/or proficiency in tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, Visio Professional, Bluebeam Extreme (Revu), Microsoft Project, Microsoft 365 Suite, and other ICT-specific software.

• Additional active BICSI Certifications are preferred; BICSI DCDC certification is advantageous.

• Willingness to work remotely across the United States; hybrid work option is available near an AECOM office.
