This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.

📋 Description

• Design and create large-scale mechanical systems for water infrastructure initiatives.

• Develop 3D models utilizing Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Revit, or other mechanical design applications for drafting purposes.

• Determine the sizing and selection of hoists, actuators, and related mechanical systems for waterworks.

• Perform engineering calculations and analyses to guarantee structural integrity and mechanical efficacy in accordance with industry standards and specifications.

• Evaluate and authorize engineering drawings and vendor submissions.

• Work collaboratively with Civil, Structural, and Electrical Engineers.

• Ensure that designs adhere to relevant codes, standards, and client specifications.

• Generate technical reports, specifications, and documentation.

• Assist in proposal development by offering technical insights.

• Travel a few times annually for site inspections and client meetings.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET accredited Mechanical Engineering program and 6+ years of pertinent experience or proven equivalent experience and/or education.

• Professional Engineering licensure in the United States or the capability to secure licensure within two years.

• Preferred: 10+ years of mechanical engineering design experience related to water, infrastructure, or similar industrial mechanical equipment.

• Preferred: Familiarity with locks, dams, and other substantial waterworks structures.

• Experience in mechanical design of gates, hoisting mechanisms, actuators, or large-scale mechanical systems.

• Background with cranes or other lifting apparatus.

• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and hydraulic schematics.

• Experience with large pumps, pump stations, or pumping systems.

• Background in heavy steel fabrication, welding, construction, and/or large-scale mechanical engineering projects.

• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Revit, or other 3D design software.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Skilled in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software and analytical methods.

• Experience working in hybrid environments with multidisciplinary teams.

• Willingness to travel a few times a year for site inspections and client meetings.
