HVAC Controls, Technical Services Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Offer technical expertise and guidance for Integrated Solutions project execution and retro-commissioning efforts

• Assist in all stages of the commissioning process

• Work in partnership with the engineer of record to enhance system performance and develop field solutions

• Contribute to the development of standards and processes, as well as provide training and mentorship to Technical Services personnel

• Supply technical support to pre-engineering teams during data gathering activities

• Lead site evaluations to determine current facility conditions and outline project requirements

• Formulate energy efficiency strategies for retro-commissioning initiatives

• Aid design teams in incorporating energy efficiency measures

• Evaluate RFPs for the procurement of equipment and services

• Collaborate on project engineering following best practices, company protocols, and relevant codes

• Assess critical equipment and system submissions

• Conduct commissioning and periodic peer reviews of design documents

• Provide guidance to project teams regarding technical and resource needs

• Inspect sites to monitor construction progress, verify installation quality, and identify deficiencies

• Resolve issues related to equipment and system installation/setup

• Offer technical assistance during project implementation

• Facilitate the optimization of complex equipment and system upgrades

• Identify gaps in project execution and establish standards/processes to address them

• Support or create project execution tools

• Troubleshoot system integration and operational challenges

• Foster ENFRA brand excellence and ensure positive client interactions

• Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to Technical Services staff

• Prepare technical reports and associated documentation

• Create training materials

• Deliver post-implementation on-site operations and maintenance training

• Influence significant business choices while carrying out project assignments

• Undertake additional responsibilities as directed by company leadership

⛳️ Requirements

• 6-10 years of experience in engineering design, energy management, or retro-commissioning

• Professional Mechanical Engineering (PE) license

• Advanced technical knowledge in the relevant field

• Strong verbal and written communication capabilities

• Focus on customer/client satisfaction

• Leadership abilities with a talent for developing and mentoring others

• Capacity to analyze complex systems and solve problems

• Detail-oriented with the capability to manage multiple ongoing projects with competing deadlines

• Proficient in multitasking and willing to perform duties beyond the primary job scope when necessary

• Preferred: Experience with Central Energy Plants, Healthcare, or Higher Education projects

• Preferred: Background in Chilled Water, Heating Water, Steam, and Tower Water systems

• Preferred: Experience with hydronic system distribution projects

• Preferred: Knowledge of building automation, controls, and systems integration projects

• Preferred: Experience with Test and Balance projects

• Preferred: Experience in Energy Management projects

• Preferred: Familiarity with AutoCAD and REVIT

• Willingness to travel 50% of the time to job sites/office locations

• Ability to engage in physical activities including climbing stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles

• Capability to remain standing or seated for extended periods

• Willingness to move between different worksites

• Ability to perform repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements

• Capacity to lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
