HVAC Controls Specialist III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance sophisticated sequences of operations to boost the energy efficiency of HVAC equipment.

• Evaluate current building automation systems and support product selection processes.

• Perform field surveys to identify types of equipment and assess automation system capabilities.

• Generate Room Ventilation Schedules in accordance with applicable code requirements.

• Offer design insights on alternatives, equipment selections, and pricing considerations.

• Create controls submittal packages that include parts lists.

• Oversee onsite direction of controls and low-voltage subcontractors.

• Initiate control systems, including trends, graphics, and programming aspects.

• Program advanced sequences of operations for essential infrastructure and central plants.

• Lead efforts in programming and implementing controls.

• Ensure the completion of pre-functional checklists and commissioning documentation.

• Diagnose installation issues related to controls and malfunctioning equipment.

• Provide construction administration, maintain progress documentation, and update design documents.

• Collaborate with other divisions to achieve successful controls outcomes.

• Assist in the preparation of technical reports and associated documents.

• Mentor, coach, and provide leadership to subordinate teams.

• Carry out other assigned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience with JCI, Siemens, Honeywell, Trane, Tridium, Schneider, or other building automation systems.

• Over 10 years of relevant experience.

• In-depth understanding of commercial HVAC systems.

• Proven ability to meet deadlines.

• Basic planning capabilities.

• Strong problem-solving skills.

• Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple ongoing projects in a dynamic environment.

• Willingness to travel 50% of the time to job sites and office locations.

• Ability to work in various physical conditions, including climbing, kneeling, standing, confined spaces, and using machinery or power tools.

• Capability to operate motor vehicles.

• Ability to lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

• Associate degree in automation, controls instrumentation, or related fields (preferred).

• Journeyman electrician certification (preferred).
