HVAC Controls Analyst III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Assess, validate, and enhance the performance of new and existing building systems, either on-site or remotely.

• Organize, document, and perform commissioning and retro-commissioning tasks following company and industry best practices.

• Deliver optimized energy and project results for retro-commissioning and applicable new construction commissioning scopes.

• Assist in training and mentoring Technical Services personnel.

• Collaborate with construction management, facilities management, engineers, and trade partners.

• Lead site surveys, documentation assessments, and due diligence processes.

• Formulate energy conservation strategies.

• Engage in design and submission reviews for new construction commissioning.

• Utilize CxAlloy to record commissioning scopes and develop quality-controlled pre-functional checklists and functional performance tests.

• Compile technical reports and project insights.

• Execute energy conservation strategies and adjust building system programming accordingly.

• Employ testing instruments to troubleshoot, validate, and refine building system operations.

• Supervise and carry out functional performance tests.

• Oversee trade partners and subcontractors as necessary.

• Document, archive, and convey energy conservation strategies and building system programming.

• Monitor energy performance to ensure project performance objectives are achieved.

• Identify, communicate, track, assign, and resolve project-related challenges.

• Elevate barriers to project outcomes and scope completion as needed.

• Comply with company protocols, safety standards, SOPs, and core values.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline.

• Over 7 years of experience in commissioning or a related field, with expertise in mechanical, electrical, building automation systems, programming, or building operations management.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Strong organizational skills.

• Commitment to safety.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting capabilities.

• Capacity to work with minimal or limited information.

• Ability to self-direct or work under limited supervision.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Familiarity with cloud-based commissioning software platforms.

• Engineering Intern (EI) certification is preferred.

• Commissioning Certification from ACG, BCxA, or ASHRAE is preferred.

• Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification is preferred.

• Experience in building automation systems design and programming is preferred.

• Willingness to travel 40–60% of the time to job sites/office locations.

• Capability to climb stairs, remain stationary for extended periods, repeat wrist/hand/finger movements, and move between worksites.

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and in both quiet and noisy environments.

• Capacity to perform light work involving the adjustment or movement of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.

• Must be eligible for employment in the United States, as verified by participation in the e-Verify program.
