HVAC Chiller Journeyman Technician – Traveling Data Center Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Travel to various data center locations on a long-term rotational schedule consisting of 4 weeks of travel followed by 1 week off.

• Engage in the startup and commissioning processes of new units.

• Conduct diagnostic tests and troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical issues.

• Perform regularly scheduled maintenance on heating and cooling systems.

• Analyze and interpret regulatory requirements and technical documentation, including blueprints and diagrams.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.

• Promptly escalate issues for resolution when necessary.

• Comply with licensing requirements and ensure safe operation of equipment.

• Identify HVAC-related hazards, complete safety training, and implement effective safety protocols.

• Operate independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.

• Lead teams in high-performance environments focused on customer satisfaction.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in the HVAC industry.

• At least 3 years of experience working with Centrifugal Chillers.

• Capability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.

• EPA Universal Certification is required.

• Must be able to stand, crawl, sit, squat, climb ladders, and work on rooftops for extended periods.

• High School Diploma or GED is required.

• Must possess a valid and current Driver’s License.

• Must be insurable by the company’s insurance provider.

• Solid working knowledge of 19XR, 30CF, and CDU chillers.

• Familiarity with air-side systems (constant volume, VAV).

• Understanding of water-side systems (hot water, chilled water, condenser water).

• OSHA 30 Certification is preferred but not mandatory.

• Experience with Carrier, Trane, and Daikin air-cooled and water-cooled centrifugal chillers is preferred but not mandatory.

• Basic knowledge of building automation controls (BOMAC) is preferred but not mandatory.

• Data center experience is preferred but not mandatory.

• Experience with steam turbines is preferred but not mandatory.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills are preferred but not mandatory.

• Familiarity with ServiceMax is preferred but not mandatory.
