This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
⢠Deliver payroll accounting, funding, and financial analysis assistance to Strada clients throughout Canada and the United States.
⢠Conduct payroll-to-General Ledger reconciliations for payroll populations in both Canada and the U.S.
⢠Prepare reconciliations for banking and funding using payroll, banking, and third-party payment information.
⢠Evaluate payroll variances, accounting discrepancies, and compliance matters; perform root cause analysis and suggest solutions.
⢠Prepare or assist with journal vouchers, reclassifications, and other accounting adjustments.
⢠Assess financial, operational, and compliance risks and offer actionable recommendations.
⢠Provide functional assistance for payroll accounting and funding matters, including investigating system defects and coordinating their resolution.
⢠Assist with implementations, go-lives, year-end activities, and the delivery of payroll accounting and GL files and documents.
⢠Address inquiries from clients, vendors, and internal teams regarding payroll accounting, funding, treasury, and financial processes.
⢠Support both internal and external audits, ensuring appropriate controls are established and adhered to.
⢠Maintain Defined Work Instructions, process documentation, procedures, and controls.
⢠Collaborate with payroll processing teams, Operations, Product, and other internal departments to resolve issues and enhance service delivery.
⢠Identify opportunities for automation, process enhancement, and improved controls.
⢠Engage in knowledge sharing, training, and coaching initiatives.
⢠Safeguard the confidentiality of sensitive payroll and financial information.
⢠A background in accounting is essential, with direct experience in payroll accounting for both Canadian and U.S. payrolls.
⢠Proven knowledge of payroll accounting processes and financial obligations in Canada and the United States.
⢠Experience in payroll financial reporting, payroll funding, or payroll reconciliation is preferred.
⢠1-3 years of experience utilizing Workday or a comparable payroll, ERP, or accounting system.
⢠Strong comprehension of General Ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, and payroll accounting procedures.
⢠Advanced Excel capabilities and proficiency with Microsoft Office and related financial systems.
⢠Ability to analyze financial concerns, identify root causes, evaluate risks, and make informed recommendations.
⢠Capacity to handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and uphold SLA and client commitments within a dynamic environment.
⢠Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams.
⢠Ability to work both independently and collaboratively while adhering to established processes, procedures, and controls.
⢠Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and a willingness to learn in a global context.
⢠Current and future work authorization in Canada without requiring visa sponsorship from Strada.
