This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota, +1 more state.
• Deliver hands-on assistance to clients in addressing technical challenges related to scientific HPC applications.
• Detect, diagnose, and replicate client-facing bugs and runtime issues.
• Ensure prompt resolution of customer inquiries and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Propel new software functionalities through direct interaction with customers.
• Keep abreast of essential software features and provide guidance and support to users.
• Serve as a bridge between internal teams, end-users, and stakeholders.
• Advocate for customer requirements by translating technical specifications into software functionalities.
• Contribute to user manuals and the support knowledge repository.
• Analyze HPC applications and identify performance bottlenecks across various architectures.
• A Master's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, physics, or a related discipline; candidates with relevant experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree.
• Proficient in C, C++, and/or Fortran programming languages.
• Working knowledge of standards-based parallel programming models and languages such as MPI, OpenMP, CUDA, or OpenACC.
• Familiarity with components of the HPC software stack, including LLVM compilers and toolchains, libraries, schedulers, and job submission systems like SLURM or PBS.
• Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems and command-line tools for system navigation, administration, and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of performance optimization strategies for parallel computing, including code profiling, tuning, and scaling.
• Outstanding written communication skills with the ability to create clear, concise, and technically precise documentation.
• Strong verbal communication skills for engaging with customers and advocating internally.
• A results-oriented mindset with innovative problem-solving skills and a focus on achieving outcomes.
• US citizenship with the ability to access US government research facilities is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of Python and relevant data science libraries such as NumPy and Pandas.
• Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, vLLM, and llama.cpp, along with experience in optimizing, profiling, and debugging AI/ML workloads on parallel architectures.
• Experience in packaging, compiling, troubleshooting, and executing open-weight models.
• Background in working with or in a neocloud/hyperscaler provider.
• Consideration for remote work for exceptional candidates.
• Preference for a hybrid work setup in Austin or Minneapolis offices.
