This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Conduct investigations into discrimination cases within the State of Florida.

• Collect and document information accurately and thoroughly through interviews and correspondence with relevant parties.

• Perform research and gather facts pertaining to assigned complaints.

• Draft investigative reports within established statutory timeframes.

• Provide testimony and appear before Commission panels, in civil court proceedings, and at administrative hearings regarding investigative findings and recommendations.

• Carry out impartial fact-finding and analyze evidence.

• Create comprehensive investigative reports and legally sound determinations and recommendations.

• Uphold strict confidentiality and exercise independent judgment.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of five years of experience in legal or paralegal work, investigative roles, human relations, human resources, regulatory inspections, social work, personnel, education, counseling, affirmative action, equal employment opportunity, or juvenile/adult criminal justice work; OR a bachelor's degree coupled with one year of relevant experience.

• Familiarity with basic investigation techniques, rules of evidence, court procedures, and requirements.

• Proficient in logical reasoning.

• Skilled in active listening techniques.

• Capable of conducting fact-finding interviews and gathering statements.

• Ability to utilize deductive reasoning.

• Competent in analyzing information and assessing its validity.

• Proficient in writing precise investigation reports and delivering detailed verbal presentations.

• Committed to maintaining strict confidentiality.

• Ability to make independent decisions.

• Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing.

• Ability to establish and nurture productive working relationships.

• Preferred: experience in conducting fact-finding interviews with the public.

• Preferred: experience in writing detailed, analytical reports or analyses.

• Preferred: experience in handling and analyzing extensive documentation.

• Must successfully pass a level two background screening, including fingerprinting.

• Male applicants born on or after October 1, 1962, must be registered with the Selective Service System or possess a Letter of Registration Exemption.

• Candidates claiming Veterans’ Preference must provide supporting documentation.

• Must adhere to Florida’s Drug-Free Workplace requirements and undergo reasonable-suspicion drug testing.
