This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Execute QA/QC inspections for electrical, mechanical, fire and life safety, and/or structural building systems.
β’ Perform on-site assessments of building systems, structural integrity, and adherence to safety regulations.
β’ Carry out military housing inspections following established protocols and guidelines.
β’ Ensure that homes on military installations adhere to safety standards and document any hazards.
β’ Gather real-time property-condition data utilizing tablets and web-based applications.
β’ Take photographic records of housing units and any identified issues.
β’ Analyze construction plans, specifications, and maintenance records for compliance verification.
β’ Identify deficiencies, hazards, and non-compliance issues, and suggest corrective measures.
β’ Inspect mechanical equipment across various property types including single-family homes, multifamily dwellings, townhouses, row houses, apartments, and barracks.
β’ Conduct interviews with on-site personnel and knowledgeable stakeholders.
β’ Compile comprehensive reports detailing findings, photographs, and supporting documentation.
β’ Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal codes and standards such as ASTM, NFPA, NEC, ICC, and ASME.
β’ Communicate findings and compliance issues to property owners, contractors, and relevant stakeholders.
β’ Collaborate with engineers, architects, and inspectors to uphold consistency and quality assurance.
β’ Maintain project communication with senior management and report any deployment challenges.
β’ Provide prompt customer service and proactive solutions.
β’ Adhere to company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, safety protocols, and quality standards.
β’ Travel frequently to client and project locations across the U.S.; onsite visits can extend up to three consecutive weeks.
β’ Work overtime when authorized.
β’ High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required; some college education is preferred.
β’ A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is necessary.
β’ A valid driver's license is required, with no significant motor vehicle report (MVR) points or violations.
β’ InterNACHI certification is mandatory for Military Inspectors; candidates must pass the Interim Certification within the first week of employment and achieve the Full Certified Property Inspector designation within 12 months.
β’ Complete 90 hours of continuing education units (CEUs) within the first 12 months for Military Inspectors.
β’ Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and standard operating procedures.
β’ Capable of presenting information and addressing inquiries from clients, colleagues, and technical field staff.
β’ Skilled in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing logical conclusions.
β’ Ability to interpret extensive instructions and manage both abstract and concrete variables.
β’ Proficient in computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheet, and project management software.
β’ Strong time management, active listening, critical thinking, problem-solving, and oral and written communication skills.
β’ Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
β’ Must maintain a constant state of alertness and operate safely.
β’ Must possess a cell phone and provide your own internet service.
β’ Must meet the physical demands of the role, which include walking, standing, climbing, crawling, lifting up to 40 pounds, and driving a motor vehicle.
β’ For Mechanical Inspectors: knowledge of welding/pressure vessel inspection is preferred; NDT knowledge or certification is advantageous.
β’ For FLS Inspectors: extensive knowledge of fire codes, standards, and regulations is required; proficiency with inspection software and reporting tools; a bachelor's degree in Fire Science, Safety Management, or a related field is preferred.
