Hotline Counselor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Respond to incoming telephone, text, and chat inquiries, performing assessments and delivering immediate psychosocial support, evidence-based information, and brief interventions.

• Inform help-seekers about perinatal mental health resources and services available to them.

• Direct help-seekers to suitable services and resources listed in approved directories.

• Keep thorough, accurate, detailed, and timely real-time case documentation in Salesforce.

• Ensure that documentation complies with established policies and procedures.

• Uphold professionalism within the virtual workspace and communication platforms.

• Engage and collaborate with the remote team, including communicating during shifts via Slack and other designated channels.

• Safeguard the privacy and confidentiality of help-seekers and their information.

• Attend and actively participate in scheduled meetings, training sessions, and development activities for the Hotline project.

⛳️ Requirements

• A related bachelor’s degree is preferred but not mandatory.

• Must be a licensed mental health clinician, licensed healthcare professional with maternal and child health expertise, or a nationally/state-certified doula, lactation consultant, childbirth educator, or peer specialist.

• Minimum of two years of professional experience working with the maternal and child health population.

• Professional liability insurance coverage of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence and $3,000,000 aggregate is required.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Zoom, internet browsers, and search directories.

• Capable of managing conflict and tolerating distress while assisting help-seekers.

• Ability to multitask and manage unpredictable and high-acuity contacts in a mental health setting.

• Must work independently and complete tasks according to specified instructions, routines, and accepted standards.

• Ability to adapt promptly to changes in policies, procedures, processes, and guidance.

• Must successfully complete a Non-Sensitive Tier II – Moderate Check and Clearance background check administered by HHS.

• Completion of all required PSI training is necessary.

• Must be dedicated to PSI’s vision and passionate about its mission.

• Must have and maintain optimal high-speed internet connectivity.

• Must operate from a quiet, secure office environment to ensure privacy and confidentiality.

• Must be capable of performing essential job functions in accordance with ADA and applicable standards.

• Must regularly sit, stand, walk, speak, and hear; use a computer extensively; possess sufficient hand dexterity for keyboard usage; and read from a computer screen.
