Hotel Food Service Worker, Multiple Vacancies

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska.

📋 Description

• Execute cleaning, maintenance, food preparation, stocking, and serving tasks within a commercial hotel food service area.

• Assist food service operations at the Kuik Cafe located in Bethel, Alaska, at the Qavartarvik Customer Lodge.

• Manually wash or utilize cleaning equipment to clean food service area items.

• Clean and store dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other items in designated areas.

• Sweep, mop, wipe down, and maintain cleanliness of food service areas and equipment.

• Dispose of garbage from designated zones.

• Set up and dismantle tables.

• Support cooks and coordinate activities with other food service operations.

• Prepare food in a safe and efficient manner while adhering to standard food-handling protocols.

• Aid in large cleaning projects that are scheduled periodically.

• Ensure product levels are maintained in preparation, serving, and storage areas, including service machines.

• Stock storage areas as needed.

• Carry out other tasks relevant to the success of the department or unit.

⛳️ Requirements

• Some experience that demonstrates a working knowledge of food preparation and/or commercial kitchen equipment.

• Capability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and respond to callouts.

• A Food Handler card, Alaska Food Workers card, or ServSafe certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment.

• Must possess fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English.

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.

• Some prior experience or training that shows knowledge of cleaning equipment/processes or a demonstrated interest in and suitability for this type of work is preferred.

• Ability to stand for extended periods and walk frequently.

• Capability to occasionally lift, pull, and push objects.

• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
