This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +2 more states.
β’ Deliver virtual hospital medicine services across various hospitals in the Greater Charlotte Region.
β’ Conduct virtual admissions and comprehensive admission history and physical evaluations for adult patients in the hospital.
β’ Collaborate with supervising physicians to formulate, develop, implement, and adjust treatment plans.
β’ Perform virtual inpatient rounds and follow-up evaluations.
β’ Provide cross-coverage and continuous clinical management.
β’ Document examination findings, assessments, and care plans.
β’ Order, interpret, and assess laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic tests.
β’ Write prescriptions and administer medications within the scope of practice.
β’ Monitor patient progress and react to changes in clinical conditions.
β’ Coordinate care with physicians, bedside Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), nursing staff, consultants, pharmacy, rehabilitation, case management, and ancillary services.
β’ Record patient encounters, assessments, interventions, and clinical decisions in Epic.
β’ Advocate for patient needs and rights.
β’ Engage in departmental and practice meetings, quality improvement projects, and policy formulation.
β’ Adhere to Advocate Health policies, clinical guidelines, and regulatory standards.
β’ Carry out additional duties within the scope of licensure and credentialing.
β’ Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
β’ Nurse Practitioners must possess a Masterβs Degree or Doctorate in Nursing Practice with Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP or AGACNP) board certification.
β’ Physician Assistants must have certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
β’ Current licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in North Carolina.
β’ Current prescriptive authority and DEA license.
β’ BLS for Healthcare Provider (AHA) certification valid for at least 90 days beyond the start date.
β’ Preferred experience in Hospital Medicine, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, or other acute inpatient settings.
β’ Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
β’ Strong critical thinking and interpersonal abilities.
β’ Capability to conduct detailed history and physical assessments.
β’ Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
β’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
β’ Experience with Epic electronic medical records is preferred.
β’ Must be fluent in English and communicate clearly.
β’ Residence in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, or Alabama is required.
