Hospital Medicine NP/PA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver virtual hospital medicine services across various hospitals in the Greater Charlotte Region.

• Conduct virtual admissions and comprehensive admission history and physical evaluations for adult patients in the hospital.

• Collaborate with supervising physicians to formulate, develop, implement, and adjust treatment plans.

• Perform virtual inpatient rounds and follow-up evaluations.

• Provide cross-coverage and continuous clinical management.

• Document examination findings, assessments, and care plans.

• Order, interpret, and assess laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic tests.

• Write prescriptions and administer medications within the scope of practice.

• Monitor patient progress and react to changes in clinical conditions.

• Coordinate care with physicians, bedside Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), nursing staff, consultants, pharmacy, rehabilitation, case management, and ancillary services.

• Record patient encounters, assessments, interventions, and clinical decisions in Epic.

• Advocate for patient needs and rights.

• Engage in departmental and practice meetings, quality improvement projects, and policy formulation.

• Adhere to Advocate Health policies, clinical guidelines, and regulatory standards.

• Carry out additional duties within the scope of licensure and credentialing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.

• Nurse Practitioners must possess a Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Nursing Practice with Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP or AGACNP) board certification.

• Physician Assistants must have certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

• Current licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in North Carolina.

• Current prescriptive authority and DEA license.

• BLS for Healthcare Provider (AHA) certification valid for at least 90 days beyond the start date.

• Preferred experience in Hospital Medicine, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, or other acute inpatient settings.

• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

• Strong critical thinking and interpersonal abilities.

• Capability to conduct detailed history and physical assessments.

• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Experience with Epic electronic medical records is preferred.

• Must be fluent in English and communicate clearly.

• Residence in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, or Alabama is required.
