Hospice Veterinarian

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Deliver in-home pet hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, pain and symptom management, along with compassionate euthanasia services.

• Travel independently to scheduled appointments and work within a mobile veterinary care setting.

• Conduct physical examinations, clinical assessments, administer medications, provide sedation, perform euthanasia, and execute other veterinary procedures.

• Inform families about quality-of-life choices, end-of-life care alternatives, euthanasia, and aftercare options.

• Keep precise veterinary medical records and clinical documentation.

• Engage in communication with pet families, veterinary teams, scheduling personnel, support staff, and referring veterinarians.

• Safely manage, position, and assist with the movement of companion animals.

• Operate independently using clinical judgment, professionalism, and reliability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD), BVMS, or an equivalent veterinary medical degree from an accredited or qualifying veterinary program.

• Possess, or be eligible to obtain, an active veterinary license in the states where services will be rendered.

• Hold a valid U.S. driver's license.

• Ability to safely travel between scheduled in-home veterinary visits.

• Comfort in working independently as a mobile veterinarian.

• Capacity to communicate with empathy and professionalism during pet hospice, quality-of-life, and end-of-life discussions.

• Availability for rotational weekend shifts.

• Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted and assist with weights of up to 100 pounds.

• Ability to meet physical and logistical demands in varied residential settings.

• Successful completion of relevant background and motor vehicle record checks post-hire and prior to the scheduled start date.
