Hospice Veterinarian

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Deliver in-home pet hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, pain and symptom management, along with compassionate euthanasia services.

• Travel independently to scheduled appointments within the designated service area.

• Conduct physical examinations, clinical assessments, administer medications, provide sedation, perform euthanasia, and other veterinary services.

• Educate and support families in making quality-of-life decisions, exploring end-of-life care options, euthanasia, and aftercare.

• Ensure accurate veterinary medical records and clinical documentation are maintained.

• Engage in communication with pet families, veterinary staff, scheduling teams, operations, support, and referring veterinary teams.

• Safely handle, position, and assist with the movement of companion animals.

• Uphold clinical independence, sound medical judgment, professionalism, and reliability in the field.

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD), BVMS, or an equivalent veterinary medical degree from an accredited or qualifying veterinary program.

• Possess, or be eligible for, an active veterinary license in the state(s) where services will be provided.

• Valid U.S. driver's license is required.

• Ability to safely travel between scheduled in-home veterinary appointments.

• Comfortable working independently as a mobile veterinarian.

• Capacity to communicate with empathy and professionalism during sensitive conversations regarding pet hospice, quality-of-life, and end-of-life issues.

• Availability for rotational weekend scheduling.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted and assist with weights up to 100 pounds.

• Capability to perform physical and logistical tasks in various residential environments.

• Successful completion of applicable background and motor vehicle record checks post-hire and before the scheduled start date.
