Hospice Veterinarian

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Deliver in-home pet hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life assistance, pain management, and compassionate euthanasia services.

• Travel independently to scheduled appointments within the designated service area.

• Conduct physical examinations, clinical assessments, administer medications, provide sedation, perform euthanasia, and deliver other veterinary services.

• Educate and support pet families in making quality-of-life decisions, exploring end-of-life care options, and understanding euthanasia and aftercare processes.

• Maintain precise veterinary medical records and clinical documentation.

• Engage in communication with pet families, veterinary staff, scheduling teams, support personnel, and referring veterinary professionals.

• Safely handle, position, and assist in the movement of companion animals.

• Uphold clinical independence, sound medical judgment, professionalism, and reliability in the field.

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD), BVMS, or a comparable veterinary medical degree from an accredited or qualifying veterinary program.

• Must hold or be eligible to obtain an active veterinary license in the state(s) where services will be rendered.

• Possess a valid U.S. driver's license and demonstrate the ability to safely travel between scheduled in-home veterinary appointments.

• Comfortable operating independently as a mobile veterinarian.

• Capable of communicating with empathy and professionalism during pet hospice, quality-of-life, and end-of-life discussions.

• Availability for rotational weekend shifts.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted and assist with weights of up to 100 pounds.

• Capability to perform physical and logistical demands in various residential settings.

• Successful completion of applicable background checks and motor vehicle record checks following hire and prior to the scheduled start date.
