Hmong VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls professionally, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific terminology used in the industry, particularly in healthcare and medical fields.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages without adding, omitting, or altering any information.

• Deliver the highest quality of customer service during interpretation.

• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and Clients by providing precise and complete message interpretation.

• Uphold established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Demonstrate a willingness to pursue new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report effectively to your team leader.

• Adhere to the dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Hmong".

• At least 1 year of telephone interpretation experience with a reputable interpretation company is advantageous, though not essential.

• A solid understanding of medical terminology is beneficial, but not required.

• Knowledge of legal terminology is an asset.

• Possession of international certifications in the healthcare sector is a plus (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language is required.

• High emotional intelligence and sensitivity to diverse cultures.

• Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills are essential.
