Hindi VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Professionally handle incoming calls, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during conversations.

• Familiarize yourself with industry-specific terminology, particularly in healthcare and medicine, with training provided.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages, refraining from adding, omitting, or altering any information.

• Deliver exceptional customer service during interpretation sessions.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by ensuring precise interpretation of messages.

• Uphold established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training programs.

• Demonstrate enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Maintain communication with your team leader and provide updates as needed.

• Adhere to dress code standards for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in English as the source language and a native speaker of Hindi as the target language.

• A minimum of 1 year of telephone interpretation experience at a recognized interpretation company is advantageous, though not essential.

• A solid understanding of medical terminology is beneficial but not required.

• Knowledge of legal terminology is an asset.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are a plus (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• A high school diploma in your native language is required.

• Possess high emotional intelligence and the ability to appreciate diverse cultures.

• Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills are essential.
