High School Special Education Resource Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Deliver specialized educational content in an online format

• Provide instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process tailored to students’ individual IEP requirements

• Cultivate relationships with families, students, and learning coaches

• Ensure that special education and related services are delivered as specified by the IEP team

• Communicate with parents and related service personnel about suitable therapies

• Develop compliant IEPs, progress reports, and necessary state-specific documentation

• Facilitate and lead collaborative meetings for special education, including annual IEP gatherings

• Implement accommodations and modifications using assistive technologies, supplemental curricula, and accessible texts

• Adapt Stride K12 lessons and assessments in accordance with IEPs

• Ensure student inclusion and success within general education classrooms

• Collect data and work samples to assess progress toward IEP objectives

• Document parent communications and student interventions

• Analyze student data to recommend remediation and enrichment strategies

• Provide both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences

• Maintain the grade book and make decisions regarding placement and promotion

• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments

• Foster positive relationships with families and communicate promptly with students and learning coaches/parents

• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting

• Collaborate with teachers to interpret student data and inform instructional decisions

• Travel as necessary for professional development, student testing, and school obligations

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree

• Active state teaching license

• Arizona Special Education Teaching Certification

• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card

• Ability to pass the required background check

• Must be a resident of Arizona

• 0–1 year of relevant professional experience

• Capability to work independently, typically 40+ hours each week

• Ability to maintain a distraction-free professional home office during work hours

• Flexibility to adhere to the school’s defined schedule, usually 9–5 or 8–4

• Competence to collaborate with fellow teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data

• Skill in utilizing student data to inform instructional strategies

• Open to regular coaching from administrators

• Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure optimum student outcomes

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

• Capacity to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities

• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time

• Experience with the designated age group

• Familiarity with supporting adults and children in utilizing technology

• Experience in teaching, whether online or in traditional classroom settings

• Experience with online learning platforms
