High School Science Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver specialized high school science curriculum content within an online setting.

• Offer instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process.

• Tailor learning experiences and adjust instruction according to student proficiency.

• Provide both synchronous and asynchronous educational experiences.

• Enhance course materials utilizing approved online resources and methodologies.

• Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity.

• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion.

• Track student progress using Stride K12's learning management system.

• Notify administrators of any concerns regarding student performance and progress.

• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments.

• Establish and nurture positive relationships with families.

• Communicate and respond promptly to students, parents, and learning coaches.

• Assist parents and learning coaches with curriculum-related, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting issues.

• Collaborate with fellow teachers and administrators to utilize student data for instructional planning.

• Travel approximately once a month or 20% of the time for professional development, student testing, and other school-related obligations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Science (7-12) certification and license.

• Residency in Texas is required.

• A Bachelor's degree is necessary.

• Possession of an active state teaching license.

• Ability to pass the required background check.

• Capacity to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week.

• Ability to maintain a professional home office free of distractions during the workday.

• Skill in interpreting and generating numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Capability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.

• Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
