This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Deliver specialized high school math course content in a virtual setting.
• Provide instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process.
• Concentrate on students’ individual needs and track their progress through the learning management system.
• Collaborate closely with students and parents/Learning Coaches to enhance learning towards set goals.
• Conduct live synchronous teaching for at least 15 hours each week.
• Offer asynchronous support by drafting emails, outlining course objectives, preparing learning plans, and utilizing data to assess student needs.
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments.
• Work together on instruction, resources, interventions, student data, and professional development initiatives.
• Enhance course content using approved synchronous and asynchronous tools.
• Submit grades and required student work; maintain the grade book; make decisions regarding placement and promotion.
• Establish a positive rapport and maintain regular communication with students, families, and learning coaches/parents.
• Assist families with curricular, instructional, and basic computer inquiries within a virtual classroom environment.
• Organize social and educational activities, virtual clubs, outings, and extracurricular programs.
• Travel to testing locations to supervise state exams.
• Build community, assist with onboarding, and engage in committees as needed.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Six (6) months of experience in student teaching.
• Fulfill the requirements for a licensed teacher as per the Ohio Revised Code and Ohio Administrative Code.
• Highly qualified, state-certified educator.
• Pedagogical understanding of the content being taught and the ability to apply critical thinking skills.
• Familiarity with state content standards.
• Capacity to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week.
• Ability to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during working hours.
• Willingness to travel as necessary, averaging once per month and/or approximately 10% of the time.
• Access to reliable high-speed internet.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Capability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
• Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and proficiency in technology systems, programs, and curriculum.
• Must pass the required background check.
• Must be a resident of Ohio.
• Ohio Secondary Math Teaching Certificate (Integrated Math preferred).
• $2,000 sign-on bonus.
