High School Math Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver specific course material in an online setting

• Provide instructional support and guidance while overseeing the learning process

• Customize learning experiences to cater to students’ individual requirements

• Track student progress via Stride K12’s learning management system

• Collaborate closely with students and parents/learning coaches to enhance learning towards defined objectives

• Facilitate both synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities

• Differentiate instruction according to student mastery levels

• Enhance course content utilizing appropriate online tools with guidance from the principal and coach

• Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity

• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion

• Notify administrators of any concerns regarding student performance and progress

• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments

• Establish and nurture positive relationships with families

• Communicate with and promptly respond to students and learning coaches/parents

• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting

• Travel as necessary, averaging once per month or about 20% of the time, for professional development, student testing, and school events

⛳️ Requirements

• Required Math (7-12) certification and license

• Residency in Texas

• Bachelor’s degree

• Active state teaching license

• Ability to pass all necessary background checks

• Capability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week

• Ability to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during work hours

• Proficient in interpreting and producing numeric, tabular, and graphical representations of student data

• Ability to leverage student data to inform instructional decisions

• Open to regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers

• Willingness to embrace change and adapt to ensure outstanding student outcomes

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms

• Capability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
