High School Math Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +46 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver engaging and meaningful synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.

• Tailor learning approaches to meet the needs of all students.

• Differentiate instruction based on each student's level of understanding.

• Enhance course content using suitable asynchronous and synchronous tools under the direction of the principal and coach.

• Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity.

• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion.

• Notify administrators about any concerns related to student performance and progress.

• Prepare students for important standardized tests.

• Build and sustain positive relationships with families.

• Communicate with and respond to students and learning coaches/parents promptly.

• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular and instructional challenges and basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom.

• Monitor student progress using Stride K12’s learning management system.

• Travel for in-person professional development, student assessments, and other school obligations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Valid state Department of Education High School (9-12) Math Teaching Certification is required.

• Bachelor’s degree.

• Active state teaching license.

• Ability to pass the necessary background check.

• Position is virtual and open to residents of all 50 states and Washington, D.C.

• Capacity to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week.

• Ability to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during the workday, typically from 9-5 (or 8-4) as defined by the school.

• Travel as needed, averaging once a month and/or approximately 20% of the time.

• Experience with the targeted age group is preferred.

• Experience aiding adults and children in using technology is desired.

• Experience teaching in an online (virtual) and/or traditional classroom setting is preferred.

• Familiarity with online learning platforms is desired.

• Ability to interpret and generate numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data is preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint is desired.

• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms is preferred.

• Capability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum is desired.
