High School Lead Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Deliver tailored course content in a digital setting.

• Provide guidance, instruction, and support while overseeing the learning process.

• Focus on meeting individual student needs.

• Participate as a member of the school's leadership team.

• Mentor, supervise, and coach teachers while conducting formal evaluations.

• Address identified areas for improvement and support initiatives to enhance student performance.

• Orient teachers, communicate expectations, set and enforce deadlines, and maintain consistent office hours.

• Acquire knowledge of the K12 curriculum for designated grade levels and ensure alignment with state standards.

• Enhance course content using designated asynchronous and synchronous tools.

• Assist homeroom teachers with monitoring students’ academic progress and attendance.

• Foster positive relationships with families and teachers.

• Conduct data-driven meetings with teachers.

• Support teachers with curricular and instructional challenges.

• Recruit and interview candidates for teaching positions.

• Train newly hired teachers and execute teacher evaluation processes.

• Aid in student-teacher pairing and ensure consistency in teaching methods.

• Develop and enforce school policies and procedures.

• Coordinate testing readiness and assist with attendance and progress-related issues.

• Prepare regular reports and facilitate effective communication.

• Assist in organizing marketing events.

• Design and implement data-driven program frameworks and professional learning activities.

• Collaborate with colleagues and others to achieve school performance objectives.

• Act as a liaison between parents, teachers, and the administrative team of the school.

• Present and lead department or team meetings.

• Participate in and present at staff meetings and professional development sessions.

• Maintain student records and compile reports regarding students and classroom activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• North Carolina High School Teaching Certification is mandatory.

• Must be a resident of North Carolina.

• Bachelor's degree in education or a related field AND three (3) years of successful teaching experience, including virtual teaching experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Ability to successfully pass the required background check.

• Familiarity with state and charter school laws and regulations.

• Understanding of State Performance Standards.

• Proven leadership abilities.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong organizational abilities.

• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Capability to learn specific student management systems.

• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time for training, professional development, meetings, and other work-related obligations.

• Capacity to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week.

• Ability to maintain a professional home office free from distractions during work hours, usually from 9-5 or 8-4, or as specified by the school.
