High School English Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver engaging and immersive synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.

• Tailor learning experiences to meet the individual needs of all students.

• Differentiate instruction according to each student's level of mastery.

• Enhance course content utilizing suitable asynchronous and synchronous tools, guided by the principal and coach.

• Maintain the grade book and uphold academic integrity among students.

• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion.

• Notify administrators about concerns related to student performance and progress.

• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments.

• Build and sustain positive relationships with families.

• Communicate promptly and effectively with students and learning coaches/parents.

• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular and instructional matters, as well as basic troubleshooting in the virtual classroom.

• Monitor student progress using Stride K12's learning management system.

• Travel for professional development, student assessments, and other school obligations.

• Provide personalized online education for students enrolled in the Indiana Digital Learning School.

⛳️ Requirements

• Valid English teaching certification for grades 8-12.

• For out-of-state certifications, obtain Indiana reciprocity within 60 days of employment.

• Indiana residency is mandatory.

• Bachelor's degree is required.

• Active state teaching license is necessary.

• Capability to pass the required background check.

• Ability to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week.

• Capacity to maintain a professional home office without distractions during work hours.

• Willingness to travel as needed, averaging once a month and/or approximately 20% of the time.

• Experience with the specified age group is preferred.

• Familiarity with assisting adults and children in using technology is preferred.

• Experience in teaching online or in traditional classroom settings is preferred.

• Knowledge of online learning platforms is preferred.

• Ability to analyze and create numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data is preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint is preferred.

• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms is preferred.

• Capacity to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum is preferred.
