High School English Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Provide engaging and impactful synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.

• Tailor learning experiences for all students and differentiate instruction based on their mastery levels.

• Enhance course content by utilizing suitable asynchronous and synchronous tools under the guidance of principals and coaches.

• Maintain the grade book while ensuring academic integrity for students.

• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion.

• Track student progress using Stride K12’s learning management system.

• Notify administrators about any concerns related to student performance and progress.

• Prepare students for significant standardized assessments.

• Build and sustain positive relationships with families.

• Communicate and respond to students and learning coaches/parents promptly.

• Assist learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting queries.

• Travel for in-person professional development, student assessments, and other school-related duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• Valid High School English Certificate.

• Bachelor's degree.

• Current state teaching license.

• Capability to pass the necessary background check.

• Ability to work independently, typically for over 40 hours per week.

• Capacity to maintain a distraction-free professional home office environment during work hours.

• Preference for residents of Texas; residents of New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, or Louisiana may also be considered.

• Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time, averaging once per month.

• Experience working with the specified age group.

• Familiarity with assisting adults and children in utilizing technology.

• Experience in teaching online/virtually and/or in a traditional classroom setting.

• Proficiency with online learning platforms.

• Ability to interpret and create numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Quick to learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.

• Capability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
