High School CTE Teacher, Medical Coding

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oklahoma.

📋 Description

• Deliver specialized High School Medical Coding Electives course material in an online setting

• Provide instruction, assistance, and direction while overseeing the learning process

• Tailor learning experiences and differentiate instruction according to student proficiency

• Offer both synchronous and asynchronous educational experiences

• Enhance course content utilizing approved synchronous and asynchronous tools

• Track student progress via Stride K12’s learning management system

• Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity

• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion, and notify administrators of performance issues

• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized assessments

• Establish a positive relationship with families and communicate effectively with students and parents/learning coaches

• Assist parents/learning coaches with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting

• Collaborate with educators to analyze student data to inform instructional decisions

• Travel as necessary, averaging once per month and/or approximately 20% of the time

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree

• Active state teaching license

• Current Middle School Electives certification

• Must be a resident of Oklahoma

• Ability to pass the required background check

• Capability to work independently, generally 40+ hours per week

• Ability to maintain a professional home office free from distractions from 8a–5p

• Skill in collaborating with teachers to interpret and create numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data for instructional purposes

• Open to regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers

• Willingness to embrace change and adapt to guarantee excellent student outcomes

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

• Capacity to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and educational platforms

• Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curricula

• Experience working with the specified age group

• Experience assisting adults and children in utilizing technology

• Experience in online/virtual teaching and/or traditional brick-and-mortar environments

• Familiarity with online learning platforms
