This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Primarily engage with insurance companies over the phone to reverse denied claims.
• Draft appeals to insurance providers to contest denied or underpaid claims.
• Collaborate with national payers across various states and systems.
• Work closely with team members.
• Navigate multiple practice management systems and workflow technologies.
• Address client inquiries regarding unpaid insurance claims.
• Check payer portals to track insurance claim statuses.
• Participate in team and client meetings.
• Collaborate with leadership to enhance client collections and secure payment for additional claims.
• Prioritize work queues to maximize efficiency.
• Contact insurance carriers for prompt processing of patient claims.
• Communicate with payers to clarify denied or incorrectly paid claims.
• Document insurance carrier contracts and anticipated payment dates.
• Provide information to facilitate claim processing.
• Review system notes and claims for thoroughness and accuracy.
• Compose and submit appeals.
• Achieve facility goals and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Attach necessary documentation, including operative notes and invoices.
• Maintain daily activity logs.
• Utilize system reports for managing accounts receivable.
• Prioritize accounts based on high dollar value and days in accounts receivable.
• Document write-offs and process refund requests.
• Maintain batch logs organized by date.
• File activity into monthly charts categorized by facility.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in medical billing or accounts receivable.
• Experience with Epic, NextGen, HST, Athena, Cerner, Availity, or other substantial EMR software is strongly preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Outstanding customer service orientation with emphasis on delivering high-quality results.
