High School Algebra 1 Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Oversee instructional programs for High School Algebra 1 students.

• Engage in regular consultations with learning coaches and students through telephone, internet, and curriculum tools.

• Complete grading, generate progress reports, and conduct conferences with parents.

• Facilitate asynchronous web conferencing sessions and synchronous instruction.

• Evaluate the curriculum and develop alternative lesson strategies to enhance student comprehension.

• Communicate with parents, students, and teachers to create and update Personal Learning Plans and schedules.

• Assess student performance, provide constructive feedback, recommend instructional strategies, monitor assignments, and guide special projects.

• Collaborate with teachers to assist student progress, maintain parent communication, and delegate tasks.

• Acquire general knowledge of the K-12 curriculum along with in-depth understanding of assigned courses.

• Offer alternative strategies and additional support with assignments and projects.

• Keep current student records, cumulative files, online information, attendance logs, and contact records.

• Design enrichment activities and program adjustments in coordination with teachers and staff learning specialists.

• Organize social activities and relevant field trips.

• Manage regional field trips and seamlessly integrate them into the curriculum.

• Establish and sustain a virtual school community.

• Participate in the organization and administration of state testing.

• Engage in student recruitment sessions and marketing initiatives requiring teacher representation.

• Coordinate with Advisory Teachers and the School Counselor regarding communications, student progress, and objectives.

• Attend field trips and community events.

• Execute other responsibilities as assigned.

• Must be highly qualified and certified to teach High School Algebra in Ohio, aligned with grade level and content area responsibilities.

• Proficient in technology, particularly with Microsoft OS and MS Office applications.

• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.

• Proven capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Demonstrated history of being a team player.

• Willingness to travel occasionally for marketing and state testing events, which may include overnight stays.

• Capability to work remotely when necessary.

• Availability to work occasional evening hours as needed to support families.
