Herero OPI/VRI Interpretation Vacancy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Gambia.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Have a strong understanding of the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry, particularly in healthcare and medical fields.

• Accurately and completely relay all messages without adding, omitting, or substituting any information.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service throughout the interpreting process.

• Enable effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and Clients by providing precise and thorough interpretation of messages.

• Implement established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Show enthusiasm in obtaining new professional certifications.

• Maintain communication with and report to your team leader.

• Adhere to dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Herrero".

• A minimum of 1 year of telephone interpretation experience with a reputable interpretation company.

• Strong understanding of medical terminology.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is an advantage.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are a plus (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• High emotional intelligence and appreciation for diverse cultures.

• Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
