This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Act as WPE's healthcare subject matter expert for hospitals, health systems, academic medical centers, and other healthcare providers.
β’ Consult with clients on facility modernization, infrastructure renewal, energy efficiency, decarbonization, and resilience.
β’ Assist in business development by pinpointing opportunities, establishing executive relationships, and representing WPE at meetings and industry events.
β’ Contribute to proposals, RFQ/RFP submissions, client interviews, winning strategies, technical methodologies, and case studies.
β’ Evaluate facility conditions, capital plans, and master plans to shape integrated infrastructure solutions.
β’ Provide advice on project delivery and funding strategies, including ESPC, design-build, energy-as-a-service, incentives, grants, and tax incentives.
β’ Offer guidance on California Title 24, OSHPD/HCAI, permitting, inspections, seismic regulations, and compliance.
β’ Address the complexities of occupied 24/7 patient-care environments, including ICRA, interim life safety measures, phasing, utility shutdowns, and accreditation standards.
β’ Assist in achieving energy, carbon, and water reduction targets, as well as compliance with LEED, ENERGY STAR, and building performance standards.
β’ Collaborate with engineering, construction, and project management teams throughout design and construction phases.
β’ Mentor and train staff on healthcare operations, regulatory codes, and client expectations.
β’ Keep abreast of healthcare industry trends, regulatory updates, and funding initiatives.
β’ Lead assessments of facilities and infrastructure, develop decarbonization roadmaps, support capital planning, conduct feasibility studies, and perform compliance reviews.
β’ Create executive-ready business cases, life-cycle cost and risk analyses, recommendations, and leadership presentations.
β’ Provide client assistance from planning and procurement stages through design, construction, commissioning, and measurement and verification.
β’ Support procurement processes, contracting, solicitation documents, evaluation criteria, and stakeholder alignment.
β’ Educate executives, boards, and client teams via workshops, briefings, and training sessions.
β’ Deliver ownerβs representative-style project management that encompasses scope, schedule, budget, risk, and change management.
β’ Assist in preparing construction and occupancy readiness, testing, commissioning, and transitioning to facility operations.
β’ Facilitate post-project reviews and performance monitoring.
β’ Cultivate relationships with healthcare industry organizations such as ASHE, hospital associations, and Practice Greenhealth.
β’ Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, healthcare administration, or a related field is required.
β’ A minimum of 15 years of experience in facilities, planning, development, and/or construction within healthcare provider organizations.
β’ Proven experience leading capital programs and projects across various markets in North America.
β’ In-depth knowledge of California Title 24 and OSHPD/HCAI requirements, including plan reviews, permitting, construction inspections, and hospital seismic compliance.
β’ Demonstrated success in advancing sustainability initiatives in healthcare facilities, encompassing energy efficiency, decarbonization, electrification, and green building certifications.
β’ Familiarity with NFPA 99, NFPA 101, FGI Guidelines, ASHRAE 170, and Joint Commission Environment of Care requirements.
β’ Experience in a client advisory, consulting, or owner's representative role is essential.
β’ Strong project management capabilities, including scope, schedule, budget, risk, and stakeholder management.
β’ Exceptional facilitation, presentation, and training skills.
β’ Proven ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks effectively.
β’ Strong collaborative skills with a diverse range of stakeholders to ensure excellent customer service.
β’ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and entrepreneurial environment.
β’ Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
β’ Comprehensive understanding of energy performance contracting, alternative project delivery methods, and healthcare facility operations.
β’ Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time.
β’ An advanced degree, such as an MBA or MHA, is preferred.
β’ Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, CMMS platforms, project management, capital planning, and facility management systems is preferred.
